The Beginnings

For over 130 years, the cooperative movement has played a vital role in Alto Adiges economy. What began in the 19th century out of necessity has grown into a stable and sustainable business model that continues to thrive.

In the 19th century, Alto Adige experienced significant social and economic change. The decline of the nobility and the secularization of church property opened the door for the middle class to take an active role in the economy—even outside the urban centers.

In this agriculturally shaped region, numerous private wine trading companies emerged in the early 19th century. These businesses purchased must from individual farmers, processed it into wine, and sold it on. As a result, the farmers became highly dependent on the wine merchants, who set prices, delayed payments, or even left them without compensation during peak harvests. Many farmers faced severe losses and economic hardship.

Our Wines

Intuition, knowledge, and decades of experience are the foundation for authentic, characterful South Tyrolean wines. Tradition and craftsmanship are paired with modern cellar technology and diverse fermentation and aging techniques, ensuring that each wine fully expresses the essence of its grapes.

Environmentally conscious vineyard care and a meticulous grape selection process that starts in the vineyard guarantee high-quality fruit, which is then transformed into exceptional wines.

The wide range of growing sites—from 250 to 700 meters above sea level in and around Bolzano—contributes to a remarkable diversity: from fruity-fresh and aromatic white wines to elegant and full-bodied reds.
